Wedding: 11/10/11
It was difficult getting in touch with the florist and getting phone calls returned. I had my appointment about a month before the wedding and didn't hear back with the contract until 2 days before the wedding. They went $1,000 OVER my budget after I was told I could get everything within the budget. To make matters worse my $150 small bouquet (so ridiculous!) was supposed to be all white with a few pops of orange calla lillies. When they delivered it, its was about 50% orange. I didn't let it bother me the day of, but in the pictures, it's all I notice....not in a good way either.
I really liked Mark but if you go with this vendor, be sure to stay on top of them and see EXACT samples of what they will create for your day.

I loved my flowers and my chuppah was beautiful but iti took at bit to get that way. My flowers were delivered to my hotel and my bridal party bouquets were wrong and my husbands boutonniere was not the color I imagined. I was not happy with what I saw and my bouquet was the same size as my bridal party.
I sent everything back for them to fix except for a bouquet for me so I could take some pictures with it. It was definitely not how I pictured the day to go. They promised to bring the flowers back promptly to where we were taking pictures. I was very happy when they came back and fixed everything. It was a huge relief and it was exactly what I wanted. We were able to get pictures with the flowers in hand. My chuppah I only saw as I walking down and aisle and it was beautiful more than what I expected. My only complaint is that we asked for rose petals down either side of the aisle and instead they were scattered down the middle. The reception flowers were also beautiful they did a great job! We worked with Pat who was very helpful during the process and did make it all come together in the end.

If you are looking for a florist who does not return phone calls and keeps you hanging until the day before the wedding you will find that with Flowers by Topaz. I am very shocked on how Mark treats his clients once you commit with him. He is supposedly very busy working on other venues doesn't have time to talk with you and when you do talk with him - he doesn't listen. Received six proposals from him with minor changes yet everytime he would email you the original proposal with no changes on it because he never payed any attention to you request. Final proposal was finally sent the day before wedding after a number of calls asking them where is the proposal. Flowers were delivered to brides house by Anna and when bride picked up her bouquet and asked Anna is this my bouquet Anna said "yes, please do not touch any of the flowers until the photographer starts taking photos". What a DISGRACE - bridesmaids bouquet's were larger than the brides. Mark claims he is Manhattan quality - what a joke.

Flowers was very important for my August 2011 wedding. I love flowers and we were having an outside, garden ceremony, so I know I needed to do something special and I needed a very special vendor to do so. I had heard many people mention Flower by Topaz. After many interviews with other florist, I decided Mark was the man for the job! He is very talented, very experienced and his vision is limitless. He is great on giving multiple suggestions and direction, which to an overwhelmed bride is a God-sent!
Just to mention a few cons: 1) from start to finish you will go through many different proposals filled with hundreds of changes. Pay close attention to all the proposals because the prices always tend to increase by small/moderate increments with no mention as to why or what changes caused the change in price. 2) Follow-up could be better. I know this is a busy business however it was sometimes frustruating waiting 2 or more weeks for a reply to an email. Maybe there needs to be more assistants available to follow-up with the clients. 3) Day of my wedding, I was supposed to have a throw away bouquet to use during the reception. Right before that time I am told by my planner & staff at the catering hall that they had to use one of the bridesmaids bouquet because the throw away was not left. I was not happy about this because one of the girls would not have a bouquet to keep as a souvenir. When I asked Mark about this he was confident that one of his crew members did leave the bouquet and he wasn't sure what happened. He assured me that he would make another bouquet for the bridemaid that had to give away her bouquet. I emailed him the information he needed to process the bouquet. Left 2 emails before I got a voicemail over a month later from one of his receptionist, to call back with information for the bouquet! By that time I was frustrated and never followed up.
Overall the flowers at the wedding was beautiful! Centerpieces were beyond anything you have ever seen. Mark is truly gifted and I am happy with the work he produced.

So beautiful! I'm not a big flower person so we wanted to keep them to a minimum. We used Ivy and red rose petals around the centerpieces! It was perfect! We had a dark gothic wedding and the candelabras and crosses were great!!! Really personal and different! The emails were lost a couple of times or whatever, just call, they're very helpful!

Flowers By Topaz created THE MOST gorgeous floral arrangements I have ever seen for our wedding in September 2010! My wedding planner, Shanelle Walker (Imaginative Creations) recommended them, and I fell in love with their suggestions from the first appointment on. Mark Masone (owner) and Anna, along with their entire staff, were so knowledgeable, patient, kind, and flexible and we loved working with them. I knew I wanted something completely different for my bridesmaids, so Mark and his team worked with me on creating the most beautiful and original pocketbook bouquets! They were so unique and one-of-a-kind that they've even been featured on the internet as the "new trend". I can't thank Mark and his team enough for how they accomodated us and our requests. I have even referred my cousin, who will be getting married next year, to Mark at her behest b/c she loved their work so much.

Mark was amazing. There is no other word to describe him.
I cried when I saw my reception room and my dads jaw hit the floor and he usually never reacts to these types of things. Mark was there to set up the wedding and he was always cordial and willing to share ideas throughout the process.
He, his cousin, his sister, and his entire team were just amazing!
Thank you again.

I was so excited to chose this vendor that I booked them 1 year before the wedding. The meetings went so well in the beginning and I was certain I made the right choice...UNTIL I scaled back the contract from $17,500 to $11,000. Well that's when the numbers were wrong the responses to emails and voice mail messages were extremely delayed. The deposit amounts off by $500. My ceremony pieces that were to be Mostly all white roses were all feathers. I paid $450 per piece for feathers. Not one white rose. the boutineers were wrong. Goes to show you My concerns were not addressed. But to me the most upsetting aspect is my email to let Mark know How I was feeling after the event and No response or apology for their errors. My centerpieces were AMAZING, but at $400 a piece I would have accepted nothing less. I would advise going with someone else unless you have a budget of $15,000 or more. He doesn't care about your budget concerns!
