Ram's Head Inn

Brian and his family have been dining at the Ram’s Head for years. As we were planning we wanted to ensure that the place we were married meant something to us and that it wasn’t just because we thought it was pretty… The Ram’s Head fit the bill. It just so happened to also have a beautiful Great Gatsby feel as well as an expansive lawn and an area over looking the water from which to have our ceremony. For an Irish wedding, it couldn’t have been more perfect! Linda and her staff did an amazing job making sure that our guests had a great experience. We didn’t technically have a tasting as we knew the food would be great. We had A LOT of food (raw bar, sushi, crudités, about 10 different hor deourves from Kobe beef skewers to caviar to tuna tartar…, a plated salad, 4 entrée stations with duck, lamb, t-bone steak, and lobster, sides, after-dinner cheese course with Port and Limoncello, and cookies, milk, and water as guests departed.). The presentation was amazing and people couldn’t stop eating! We also had a champagne tower (using the old school glasses) that they put outside so guests could walk up the hill after the ceremony and celebrate. Linda also went above and beyond when getting Guinness for us. We had requested it be on tap and there was an issue in the tap/keg set up so she had someone come out and install it on their main tap. So, know they offer Guinness and we’re pretty darn proud to be the reason why it’s now available on Shelter Island! The only reason I rated it as a middle "value for cost" is that it is an expensive venue. We thought it was worth every penny for our decadent reception but I wouldn't say this is a place for a budget conscious couple...
