I cannot say anything bad about this venue. Everything ran perfectly and smoothly. The food was amazing! The room was gorgeous. The service was top notch!I had a 100 person wedding in the ballroom on the second floor. The room was intimate but also spacious. I had a hard time finding a venue allowing only 100 guests. The venues that did allow 100 guests had tiny rooms that had no charm. They would invest all their money on the grand ballroom for weddings with over 150 guests. Well, not everyone wants a large wedding. The Garden City Hotel never let me feel as if my party was to small, or that I was a waste of time. The ballroom is a perfect size with 2 domes in the middle painted like a sky. Perfect for my forest theme. The food was amazing! They also have an amazing trio desert sampler for each of your guests. No need to waste money on a viennese table. I also wanted to say that the banquette manager was fantastic. He was always honest about how much everything would cost and what would work better with my wedding budget. If you are considering The Garden City Hotel just go with it and don't think twice!

My husband I were married in June and our reception was at The Garden City Hotel. Our experience, and my family's experience, with The Garden City Hotel was nothing short of perfect. We particularly enjoyed working with the banquet manager, Mr. Joseph Borbely, who has been with the hotel for over 27 years. The Garden City Hotel is a Long Island landmark and truly is "Long Island's leading hotel since 1876." The venue is amazingly beautiful and regal, the food and service exquisite, and the entire evening truly was the best of our lives. While pricey, this hotel stands head and shoulders above other Long Island wedding venues. As stated on its website, it is the most sought after wedding venue in the region, and it is not difficult to understand why.

The Garden City Hotel provided exceptional service. The food was amazing, our cake was beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. The catering manager was a pleasure to work with.

Garden City Hotel is known (and rightfully so) for being one of the best venues in Long Island for gourmet dining. While it doesn't come w/o a cost - It certainly lived up to this aspect of its reputation.Unfortunately there were several issues with our actual reception which left a slightly bitter taste in our mouth - including the fact that they let a crasher into our wedding, took us minutes (and a near fist fight) before we could locate any personnel to take care of the situation - worse than the fact that this crasher made it into our reception was the fact that no one ever apologized for this mishap (despite the fact that we were assured at our first meeting that such a thing would never occur - which we thought was an odd issue to bring up in the first place - unfortunately not so odd for us!)Next issue was the fact that I had requested a special cocktail that required a specific liquor - despite being assured that it would not be an issue, when I requested the cocktail at one of the bars (where I had a frame prominently displaying my special drink!) the bartender informed me that there was only one bottle of my liquor available at one of the other bars.Lastly - I had heard from other brides that their venue's Maitre'D would put aside food for the bride and groom to enjoy in their suite later that evening - I was dissapointed that we did not get this attention and instead had to order chicken fingers at three in the morning when we were finally able to eat.All in all - these may be minor issues - but when spending the money we did - we had high expectations. Ultimately however, I think our 250 guests were impressed with the food and service provided.
